Sand Dunes of the Suguta Valley

This remarkable, rarely-visited place sits between Lake Baringo and Lake Turkana. It is very hot and only 1000 feet above sea level. All approaches to these dunes are spectacular, but the most remarkable transformation of landscape is experienced when descending 7000 feet from the cedar clad eastern Rift Valley wall.

The palm lined banks of the Suguta River are nearby and Greater Kudu, Grant’s gazelle and baboons are regularly seen on the journey down to the valley floor.
