I have just finished reading this wonderful book, in which Alexandra Fuller tells the moving story about the life of her extraordinary mother, ‘Nicola Fuller of Central Africa’ – as she called herself.
The story tells how Nicola – who has lived her life primarily in Africa, but who holds tight to her Scottish roots – together with her husband Tim lived in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Zambia where they built successful farms and businesses, how they survived war and many family tragedies.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it’s beautifully written with combinations of heartbreaking but also hilarious moments.
