I shot these photographs of the Samburu in the Seiyia River when I was taking journalists on a trip around the Northern Frontier District of Kenya to show them the remarkable variety and beauty of the area.

The Samburu tribesmen had been digging in the dry river bed or “lugga” to find water for their livestock.
