This is the BeetleCam, a remote controlled buggy with a DSLR camera mounted on top, first built in 2009 by conservation photographers and brothers Will and Matthew Burrard–Lucas and used to achieve unique close up, ground level photographs of African wildlife.
After having shot some incredible photographs of elephants and buffalo in 2009, the BeetleCam was unfortunately destroyed by a lion.
In 2011 two new and improved BeetleCams were built and used to photograph the lions of the Masaai Mara. Kenya with a stunning series of photographs as a result as you can see. The photo’s are incredible and give you an insight in wildlife that cannot be captured in any other way.
