Botswana

The world’s largest producer of diamonds, up to 70% of Botswana is in fact covered by the Kalahari Desert, home to Bushmen hunter-gatherers. Further east the Okavango Delta is a unique ecosystem, with over 16000 square km of inland waterways – a thriving home to some of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.

SEBA CAMP

Seba Camp, set in an ancient riverine forest in the heart of Botswana’s magical Okavango Delta, overlooks a lagoon and seasonal floodplain teeming with animal and bird life. The camp is a base for unique research on elephant behaviour and a regular centre for wildlife film-makers. Visitors at Seba are invited to observe firsthand the researchers at work, often in close proximity to the elephant herds.

ABU CAMP

Abu Camp is located on the western side of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Visitors to Abu Camp are transported into this unique part of Africa in large comfortable custom-made saddles on elephant back. Elephants are not just able to cope on sand and in water with equal ease, but can also get close to other game, which is generally unaware of the human presence aloft. An elephant back safari is an extraordinary experience – the youngsters cavorting in the water, wandering off and charging back, with the adults ambling quietly on.
