These truly beautiful black and white photographs of Africa’s wildlife, shot by wildlife photographer Heinrich van den Berg, show the creatures at their most intimate and reveal nature in all its glory.
Johannesburg-based Heinrich, 40, travelled across South Africa, Namibia and Botswana – to the most awe-inspiring nature spots of the region in search of the perfect portraits.
Concentrating on texture, light and contrast, the black and white shed new light on the animal world and pull at the natural human emotions humans feel when faced with animals.
The photographs have been included in Heinrich’s photobook ‘Shades of Nature’ which was first published in August of this year.
